Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Introduction

iQuit (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the iQuit mobile application, the iQuit web application, and this website (iquitnow.life).

Data controller: Jose Emanuel Cascone Rego de Sousa, 29 Flat 1, Triq V. Menville, Is-Swieqi SWQ 2161, Malta. Contact: emanuelcascone@gmail.com.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay email if you choose to hide yours) from that provider; we never receive your Google or Apple password.

Smoking Profile and Health Data

To track your quit progress, we collect the information you provide about your smoking habits (cigarettes per day, price per pack, quit date, years smoked) and quit-related health information such as craving logs and calculated health-recovery milestones. If you choose to connect health devices (Apple Health, Google Fit), we receive the health metrics you authorize, used exclusively for your recovery tracking. Health data is never used for advertising and is never sold.

User Content

We store content you create in the app: journal entries, craving notes, community posts, and messages you send to the AI coach. AI coach messages are processed by our AI service provider solely to generate responses; they are not used to train third-party models under our agreements.

Purchase Information

If you buy a subscription or one-time purchase, the payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see your payment card details. We store only your subscription status and product identifier so we can unlock premium features.

Identifiers and Usage Data

We assign your account an internal user ID and collect basic product-interaction data (features used, screens visited) to operate and improve the app. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the iQuit service and sync your data across devices
  • To calculate your personalized health recovery and savings metrics
  • To track your quit progress and achievements
  • To provide AI coaching responses
  • To enable community features (if you choose to participate)
  • To send notifications you’ve opted into (milestones, motivation, reminders)
  • To process and honor your purchases and subscriptions
  • To improve and develop new features

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • With your consent: community posts and success stories you choose to share publicly
  • Service providers (processors): cloud hosting and database providers, Google (sign-in), Apple (sign-in and purchases), Firebase (push notifications), and our AI provider (coach responses), each under data processing agreements
  • Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect our rights

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and secure token-based authentication.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Malta, the IDPC).

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted, except where retention is required by law.

Children’s Privacy

iQuit is a smoking-cessation service and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
